There is a great deal to be said about the power of affirmation. Saying things out loud to yourself, and to the universe, not only makes your pledge real but also by law of attraction you are sending the energy that you wish to receive. By repeating an affirmation to yourself regularly, you can begin to change your mindset and way of thinking.

You can start yourself off on this habit by creating an affirmation ritual, so to speak. You will need a journal, a special pen of your choosing and, if you have one, a blue candle that you can burn while you work. You’ll need to write your affirmation everyday, around 15 to twenty times. Focus on what you are doing as you write. Begin with something like this:

I strive toward higher things, toward better things.

After three days, focus on an affirmation with a more specific focus on what you want to work on. Always us a positive ‘I am’ or ‘I can” sort of statement. For example:

I am more patient with myself or I am more confident when talking to people I don’t know. ( Laurel Reufner)

Give each affirmation you choose at least a week to set in. Soon, setting yourself positive affirmations will become a habit in your everyday life and evoke positive thinking and attitude.
